Leituras a propósito da moralidade da guerra

Luís Rainha, no Aspirina B, citando um artigo de Ze'ev Maoz, publicado no Haaretz, em que este pergunta, retoricamente, «What exactly is the difference between launching Katyushas into civilian population centers in Israel and the Israel Air Force bombing population centers in south Beirut, Tyre, Sidon and Tripoli?»

As declarações de Jan Egeland, secretário-geral adjunto da ONU para os Assuntos Humanitários, durante o seu périplo pela região: «Consistently, from the Hezbollah heartland, my message was that Hezbollah must stop this cowardly blending ... among women and children (...) I heard they were proud because they lost very few fighters and that it was the civilians bearing the brunt of this. I don't think anyone should be proud of having many more children and women dead than armed men».

As declarações inenarráveis do porta-voz do PSOE: «los muertos civiles (no Líbano) no son daños colaterales, son un objetivo buscado».

A visão crítica, mas sensata, de Yoel Marcus, também no Haaretz: «I believe that Israel is fighting a no-choice war that we must do everything possible to win. Air strikes, ground operations - whatever it takes so that Hezbollah, exhausted and beaten, pulls back and a multinational force is deployed along the international border together with the Lebanese Army, in keeping with Security Council Resolution 1559.»
